Preorder ("we", "us", "our") operates a pre-order management platform for fashion brands. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. Information We Collect

Merchants: Email address, business name, legal business name, ABN (if provided), business address (if provided), Stripe account details, and storefront content (images, descriptions).

Buyers: Email address, name, shipping address, and order details. Payment information is processed directly by Stripe and is not stored on our servers.

Automatically collected: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps for analytics purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Providing and maintaining the Platform
  • Processing transactions between Merchants and Buyers
  • Sending transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, magic link authentication)
  • Analytics and platform improvement
  • Legal compliance and fraud prevention

4. Third-Party Services

We share information with the following third parties, only as necessary to provide our services:

  • Stripe for payment processing (subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy)
  • Resend for transactional email delivery
  • Cloudflare for content delivery and image storage

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

5. Data Storage and Security

Personal information is stored on servers located in Australia (where available) or in jurisdictions with adequate data protection. We use encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted session cookies, and hashed authentication tokens to protect your data. We do not store payment card details.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (encrypted session cookies). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Analytics data is collected server-side without persistent browser cookies.

7. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe your privacy has been breached

8. Data Retention

We retain Merchant account data for as long as your account is active. Buyer order data is retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance. After account deletion, we remove personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
